Nothing Fancy
In the mornings (and sometimes in the evenings to keep myself awake while I type away on my computer, shhhh) I enjoy a giant cup (or two) of black coffee. My family has always drank black coffee, brewed so strong it makes your cheeks pucker into a big ole grin accidently. So maybe it’s a fond memory thing or maybe it’s just because it’s what I know, that’s mostly what I enjoy.
But usually around 2 in the afternoon, I get a hankering for a treat drink. Sometimes it’s a glass bottle coke and sometimes it’s a glass of sweet tea. But sometimes, it’s a homemade latte. I make all kinds, but one of my most usual is this sweet cream and honey. It’s simple, nothing fancy and I like that. Other flavors like my blueberry jam latte or peppermint mocha are more seasonal flavors but this honey one is good hot or iced, year round.
Jazz it up with a sweetened cream or keep it simple with basic fresh cream and honey, put it over ice or drink it hot, it’s good no matter what.
Now the correct “latte” it with espresso, I’m aware. But I am not an espresso gal. I even have an espresso machine! But I just don’t love it and neither does my body. So I prefer strongly brewed coffee in mine, preferably percolated but most often I just use my cheap drip machine. Make it how ya like!
