Today I pray from a country mama’s heart,
With words of gratitiude and thankfulness about life’s best parts.
Teaching these babies and raising them right
On old country land, nearly perfect in sight
A barn full of chickens for rich eggs and goats for fresh milk
With kittens playing nearby, fur softer than silk.
Flowers to pick and vegetables to harvest
Living a life that is simple and honest.
A kitchen to cook, a porch to rest
All the while tending to it her best.
A farmhouse filled with antique treasures
An answered prayer to have such pleasures.
A little white church, a loving husband and a happy family
For in this little country life blessings are aplenty.
The roosters are crowing, the donkey is braying
The sheets and clothes on the line are swaying.
The eyes of the Lord, looking down at our every need
Keeping us safe, healthy and content with the simplest of things.
What more could I want?
Look at the beauty, picked just for me.
Dear Lord, thank you for it all
Every last blessing.
I pray you show me to care for it wisely and to honor the land,
to raise a love woman and a God honoring man
To do what is noble, what is right and what is true.
But the reason for it all, I pray, is that I use to glorify you.
